This house was built back in the 50's on a ½ acre by my Dad for Mom and my 2 brothers and me. He planted maple trees in the front and pines all along the sides. There were pine bushes along the front, sides, and back. Dad passed in 1979 and Mom in 2007. Now this house is occupied by my husband, me and daughter. We had the old maples cut down, a lot of the pines fell down, and had hubby cut down all the pine bushes and started over. So most of the plants in my garden are new to a couple years old. Still have the old peonies and rhododendrons, a couple spireas, burning bushes, and a barberry that mom loved. We get a lot more sun and a lot less leaves in the fall! I have a garden and my husband has an antenna farm.

Prairie Garden Ellsworth, KS

My garden is very eclectic.  I have about 3 acres and most of it I barely have time to mow. (I have to work to support my habit.)  I have deliberately kept my flower and garden beds small to cut down on the work. ...

I watched a GMO video on FB this morning that I shared.  I'm hoping you don't mind but I linked it to your GMO glog so anyone that was interested could find info all in one place.

Sandy!  Thanks so much for visiting my site.  I do think you are the first friend I have made that is from PA.  I have spent my life in New Mexico and Texas.  It is so much fun to hear and see what is going on in other places!
    dreamwanderon replied 3 months ago
@Clenram: Well it's nice when I make a comment on a photo that someone actually responds...with the exception of Liz in her Chiz Gardens. It seemed like her and I were the only ones on here ! Good to have friends as long as we don't talk politics (cause I believe in conspiracies) . I've lived in PA all my life and am living in the same house that I grew up in w/ hubby, 13 year old husky/shepherd, a 65 gal, 55 gal, and 30 gal fish tank (and daughter works at the locally owned pet store...so I get a discount ! Teehee !)  ☺

@dreamwanderon: No wonder you noticed my fish in the background.  How great to be in the house you grew up in!  Having a daughter that works in a pet store is almost as good as having a live in chef!

Lots going on on FB today with Monsanto related articles from gardeners I follow. Amazing! I've got my husband reading all this stuff. His reaction is that it might be too late for anyone to do anything....the damage may already be done. I sure hope not!!
    dreamwanderon replied 4 months ago
@Liz: It's not like they can recall them if something goes wrong ! They are playing with something here that no one will be able to control...like building a Frankenstein ! It would only take one of the genetic engineered plant to cross pollinate with something else and on down the line...and everything will change. That's why they have the "Doomsday Seed Vault" up in Norway. This is a HUGE government conspiracy !  :-(
