Like your garden, mine is a work in progress, catering to native wildlife. Each year, I reduce the size of my lawn and expand my natural areas with native perennials, shrubs and trees. Always learning more about what works in this zone 7b clay soil and what doesn't, I'm constantly looking for ways to enhance my backyard wildlife habitat on a small budget. Though there are non-natives in my landscape, I continue to remove and replace them as my budget allows. If the plant is non-invasive, I may allow it to stay because of what it brings to the local ecosystem.It's important to consider wildlife when gardening....
