For the last several years I have grown the white, yellow and mint green scalloped squash, all one color.  My mom grew them too when we were growing up.  She called them patty pans which is a fun name for a kid.  This will be first time for the striped so I am excited to harvest them, I am sure it will be easy to spot them.  The white scallop continues to be a heavy producer with the mint green next and the yellow coming in last.  Which is why I plant twice as much yellow for some reason it is not a heavy producer.  I pick them small but when it heats up I have to pick twice a day.  At some point I do get behind so I leave some on the vine and use them like decorating gourds, they are lovely.  (less)
