Prairie Garden Ellsworth, KS

My garden is very eclectic.  I have about 3 acres and most of it I barely have time to mow. (I have to work to support my habit.)  I have deliberately kept my flower and garden beds small to cut down on the work. ...

I have great weeds this year.  Oklahoma has been in a drought but got 2 inches of rain and the weeds look great.  My parents are in their 80's both with dementia, and I have been dealing with that change in their and my life.  I plan to get out their in the garden and get inspired.  I have Frosti to help!

@geomauldin:Yikes. Lucky you have such a nice environment and pooch.  Weed pulling is therapeutic - I image myself as a goat eating them - a guiltless, nonreflective animal that always seems to be ready to smile sardonically.  Good luck to you.

Hi geo -- so what do you have up and blooming now?  Are you tracking with last year?

...at least you'd be bug free in a deep freeze, thought that may be a little dramatic (or like being in San Francisco for the summer!).  In Umbria, we hate the 'skeeters which are rare but present, and only go out when the sun is so hot it fells them.

I love my garden - hate the bugs that bit, the snakes (5 so far in 2010), and the heat.  Well, if I could garden in a walk-in freezer, I'd be happy!!
