wow!  fabulous moment in a beautiful front yard.  I see the crepe myrtle tagged but do you know what the yellow flowering bush is?

it is a Rudbeckia Maxima - gets so tall in summer it falls over.  I just cut it back and it goes again.  Bees love it.

What a great combo to the crepe myrtle.  Did you put that in?  Do you underplant it for a spring show?  I love the blue colored leaves.

@walker: It comes back every year. I planted it in 2006.  When winter comes, I just let it die and leave the debris there to cover the roots.  When spring starts warming up the ground, I clean all the dead foliage off, and new sprouts begin popping up.  The wilted leaves sometimes are still a bit green, so maybe they are producing some nutrients during the winter.  It will also come up from seeds around the mother plant.
