| Six inches at the most. I have a theory that crops from the high Andes have tubers because that's how a plant survives the cold. Hence the potato. |

Recently I harvested the small bulbs from the tops of my Egyptian Walking Onions (photo 2), and today I harvested the onions themselves (photo 1).
