This is my above ground attempts at feeding my hungry house- since we're renting our current place, I'm doing my best to plant everything in pots in order to try and keep my lawn-mower-happy father from a.) running over my plants, and b.) keeping the moose off my veggies.

Once upon a time, when Fairbanks was founded, this town functioned almost solely on gold mining. Much of Fairbanks appeal is still centered around the fact that there is much gold to be had out of these hills. If you can find it, that is. |

Well the garden has all been pulled and tossed to the chickens and the compost pile. The trees are mostly yellow these days, and while it rains most days I cannot keep myself inside away from such colors. The birch really do give a show of the last shades

I was trying, hoping even to avoid it for a few more weeks. It seems Mother Nature is bound and determined to undermine all my efforts at cultivating tomatoes, and so she sends Fall early this year. Damn, and I thought I'd started everything early enough this year! |

Fall is starting to sneak in here too. I would love to have moose and caribou in my freezer. My husband and I don't go hunting but I have family members who do. My northern sister once brought us some Caribou and Musk Ox. They were both good. |

Meeting the blue heeler pups was a success. Olivia fell in love with a little guy with a black patch over one eye, chubby as can be, and wonderfully rambunctious. Now that he's home, she's not really sure she likes the competition for attention, but they play all day long. |

About 2 years ago we adopted our family dog, Boss. I remember walking into that garage in the middle of February the sounds of yipping and puppy growls bouncing off the walls.
