This garden began to be developed in the mid 1950's, when the largest tree was planted on the son's 6th birthday and much of the brickwork was completed. It was significantly renovated in the early 1990's, and again in 2005-2007. It has been a labor of love and of a passion for beautiful plants. My father established the structure of the garden... my desire to provide my mother with flowering beauty created the early-1990's renovation... and the perennials garden under the large tree was done to please me. The garden is no longer under my care... and has declined significantly... giving authority to the old adage...

Since my mother-in-law has passed, her garden has taken on a life of its own (colorful wildness!)... (less)
