Not much this weekend.  Sorted more seeds such as rudbeckia, zinnia, etc.
Got my first small tomato from the sucker cuttings I made many months ago.
The ginger has really taken off since being moved to a less than sunny location.  Moved the pineapple mint to the partial shade.

I have recently bought a number of things for the garden to plan for the garden.  I have bought the can o worm's worm composter.  I have it all setup and am waiting for the worms to arrive.  I plan on using the worm castings to complement compost as an excellent soil addition.  In addition, the worm pee can be used as a liquid... ...see more

Nothing much to report...just way to hot to work outside.  Six more weeks until a possible break.  My tomatoes seedlings are suffering.  The well established ones are thriving.
Picked a small batch of okra to pan fry.  It was freaking delicious.  My grandmother from Alabama would be proud.  The asparagus beans are way more... ...see more

Transplanted fig tree into a pot.  It did ok in the ground, however, I believe that it will thrive in the pot.  I am hoping for more figs next year.  I don't see how any tree seedling can survive in sandy soil in Florida heat.
Transplanted the potted african iris back to a bed.  Need to give it plenty of water to ensure that... ...see more

Found purslane and shooting star at Lowes in Clermont for cheap.  Basically 3 1.5 gallon hanging planters of purslane and 2 4 inch pots of shooting star for 13 bucks.  Planted those in the front beds.  Purslane in direct sun with the lantana and the shooting star under the gardenia, palms, and mexican petunia.
Started some... ...see more

Cleaned up side bed for planting of lantana and purslane.  Going to buy purslane next weekend.
Transplanted pepper and cherry tomato seedlings for my friend at work.  Also, some okinawa spinach cuttings.

The Florida summer rains have begun this week and is bring daily moisture to the containers and beds.  The sweet potatoes, okra and peanuts are loving it.  I already have okra setting flowers and fruiting.

Great to hear the rain has arrived and quite a few things have taken off.  What a shame about your Callas and Lemon Thyme ... next time.

Found white flies and larva on my Winterbor Kale and sprayed seven to control.  I am not surprised since the kale has survived this long into the heat.  I am not going to eat anymore of it.  I am only trying to get it too seed.
Started my summer shade garden between the fence and brick patio.  Wasn't going to start it until... ...see more
