The giant fig tree our garden is named after. It is two stories tall and bigger than our neighbor's pool.

Too cool.  I wish I had one.  I have not eaten a fig in years (and I do think Fig Newtons count).  I use to eat them with my Grampa when I was little.  My Mom always baked with them.  Funny how some things just get forgotten in time.

I know. My grandma had a fig tree, but I hadn't had one until I moved in to my husband's house (we're newlyweds). Even though I am a chef, I had a hard tie figuring out what to do with them.

Well, congratulations... on your wedding! So what do you do with the figs from your tree?  I know we use to just eat them, and Mom would put then in cookies.  Are you an actual Chef, like in a restaurant?  If so, how fun!  You can come over any day :) :)

Figs are great with Ricotta cheese or goat cheese on bruschetta, or you can sautee them with sherry and pumpkin pie spice, grind it down, reduce it, and make your own pie fillings or homemade fig newtons. Before I was married, I worked as a chef in a hotel in Washington, DC. Now I am a homemaker.

Chef Homemaker, ,my family is jealous.  I can make dinner, and I can bake really good bread, but that is my limit.  Fancy meals are not easy for me.  I really do wish I had a fig tree.  I will have to try fig with ricotta cheese... that sounds interesting.
