Nematodes Rd.2

Apr 13, 2012
I applied my second application of nematodes on Tues. Apr. 4th. I had some new ant mounds that had popped up from earlier rains. Instead of applying it in close proximity  to the mounds, as I had done previously, I used a hos- end sprayer to broadcast the nematodes on a broader area. After my fist application I was seeing little to no activity in any of the mounds within a few day. This time after applying on the whole yard instead of spot application, the results took over a week, but there is again little to no activity with the ant mounds. I am hoping by applying it on the whole yard that it will have effect all year long with the fire ants.... to be continued.

My husband like to break two separate mounds open with a shovel and mix the ants from one to the other. I'm not too sure if it helps any or is more for entertainment of watching them fight.
