End of Summer

By: jooly88

Finally had time to pull up the worn out okra and squash plants. Planted the start of a cool weather garden -- 12 little Argula seedlings! Still have lots of Thai Basil and Mr. Stripey and Sun Gold are still producing tomatoes. It's fun to peer through the lush foliage to find the little gems of ripe Sun Gold's scattered throughout. (Do hope the Mr. Stripey's will actually ripen!) Planning to plant some lettuces and spinach this weekend. Also need to seriously weed the yard.

Still have flowers on the purple buddleas and Miss Huff's Lantana. They'll bloom until our first frost (usually sometime in Nov.)  The Gardenias had a few blooms last week. Last of the summer scents. Fall purple astors are blooming now along with some wild goldenrod.

Aren't Sun Gold the best tomatoes! Mine are still producing as well. I'm transitioning my garden as well.
