I was just talking to my dad about ice cream last night. It is, or now was, my favorite food. I bought some a little while ago and when I went to eat it, it was terrible.. I had to throw mine away (everyone else is not as sensitive to taste as me, so they ate theirs, but agreed it tasted different), the next time I went to the store, I realized that the new "add" on ice cream is " Scoop-able" . I wonder what they had to add to make it not freeze completely! What ever it is, I cannot eat it.
I guess this is not all bad, as homemade ice cream is always better than store bought, but now I have to figure out the best way to make it. How do you make yours? I know my Kitchen aid mixer has an ice cream attachment for about $80.00, just not sure if it is the best choice. Your flavor invention above looks and sounds very refreshing! Sure wish I could get a taste! :)
It was fantastic. I have a cheapo cuisinart ice cream maker that I was given as a hand-me-down. I think the kitchenaid attachment would work well too. I get the impression that an ice cream maker is an ice cream maker. Ice cream is also my favorite food, and my greatest weakness. Before this batch, I hadn't made any in about a year, because when I was first given this ice cream maker I gained five pounds very quickly... I then put the machine away fro a while... :) So much better homemade. Last year, my favorite experiment was cataloupe ice cream. Wow, that was good.
ohh, 5 lbs huh? Maybe I better not move to quickly on this project. I think I will start a savings for the Kitchen aid one, I have so many other attachments so I might as well add to the family!
Cantaloupe ice cream sounds wonderfu...! You better watch out... sounds like you might be making alot of ice cream if it all turns out so good!! :) :)
