Seems like the biggest winners for us this year are tomatoes, peppers and eggplants. What's doing well in everyone else's plot?
Clenram replied 9 months ago
I had many cucumbers in the spring garden and a few tomatoes and some squash.  I am ready for the fall garden!
PrinceSnow replied 9 months ago
Our herbs are amazing...tomatoes look good, heirloom cukes did well, pumpkins did well, white eggplant too....

MAN! There are some stunning gardens in the Grow it Forward garden type - just wish I had as much room as y'all do!
JMTKMS replied 10 months ago
Some of them are more compact than large.  But, I agree that there are some really tremendous ones.  And there are so many gardeners that are such experts in so many fields from veggies to flower... more »

So... I'm a little late to this Grow It Forward contest... Had gotten the Baker seeds, but didn't follow up. Hopefully y'all like the Lokavore House pics!
JMTKMS replied 10 months ago
I am liking them, and glad to see you.  Better late than never and this site is worth much more than the contest.  It is very fun and educational.  The more people you visit, the more people... more »

Thanks so much! Your garden is outstanding - I WISH I had that kind of space, but in the middle of Chicago, it's tough. Will check out the rest of your page when I'm not at work!

They are fantastic - super hardy, and they grow quickly if you give them a LOT of sun. They don't need much space at all. They're also substantially sweeter than the red round varieties I've tried!

JMTKMS replied 10 months ago
I will have to try them.  Mine are long like yours, but just a different variety.  Do yours push themselves out of the ground as they grow?
lgolanty replied 10 months ago

Yup, a little, but not too bad. You can see in the example picture that the photographer didn't mound dirt over the tops because they're discolored :) But, if you keep them covered, the whole ... more »
