I planted a spacemaster cucumber in a little pot under lights. It grew quite quickly. I transplanted in a container where a few pea plants weren't doing so well. (If anyone asks, the peas didn't die I was using them for natural fertilizer. lol) It should do ok there. I've seen this variety do fine in even smaller locations. The experiment is in seeing how the cucumber will do transplanted. The weather is warm here in VA, but on top of the deck, in shallow dirt, it is even hotter. Hopefully I can get a few early cucumbers, the ones in the grocery are nasty and mushy. If I don't I still have a mess of cucumber seeds I can direct sow closer to May.
