    These figs come from Monticello. Thomas Jefferson first planted these and the previous owner took a cutting from Monticello then planted them here. History at its finest.

@JMTKMS: I need to learn to take a cutting so when we move I can replant it wherever we put roots down.

@linzelu100:  So, if you take a cutting it will root?  or do you have to graft it on to another tree?

@JMTKMS: That's what I have to research. I keep putting it off. But the previous owner was describing it as just taking a cuting from it. I don't think he does grafting trees. I really need to check it out- he has a green thumb, I don't. What worked for him may not work for me.
