Yep luna moth - someone else posted a photo of one on their screen door the other day on FB.  Very cool!  they said it was so big it looked like it could eat their face off...LOL

Oh cool. I wasn't sure what it was, because it was so much bigger than other moths I had seen.

I have already started my fall garden, excited for new types of vegetables. My seedlings are doing great, but things are coming to a stop. We are...

I want to rename squash bugs to unsquashable squash bugs or lil' ninjas.
linzelu100 replied 10 months ago
Those suckers are hard to catch!
PYehl replied 10 months ago
Flood the area with water - they will come up to seek dry area...  then I use tweezers to catch them and dump them in soapy water to die.  Or you can just flood and then spray soapy water on them... more »

Here are a list of the problems I am having:

1.red squash bugs on zucchini plant.

2.zucchini plant (only one) has a mushy, sappy base now...appears to be dissolving away. The plant is still producing good zucchini though.

2.aphids and ants on cukes.

3.cukes appear to have start of powdery mildew.

4.cukes also have a lot of leaves...

Please help. Even if you just have old remedies that may or may not work. I'm organic and my garden took a turn for the worst overnight. I know now, I shouldn't have packed everything in so tightly. Slowly... more »

Good luck in your battles. I think Rori has some sort of milk treatment for the powdery mildew.

I had a problem with my cukes as well and got some specific feedback in the YGS forum.

Could my sickly plant (I transplanted to late) be the cause of the small size? The picture in Bakers Creek looked very large.
PrinceSnow replied 10 months ago
I wonder if the transplanting could have affected the size...I'll let you know how mine turn out.  Still green.
