Big storms, no power or water for a week. Jul 06, 2012
Activity-icon-status

Well, it is finally over. We had a huge storm here,it knocked the power out for a week around here. We didn't have any water either. We stayed at my mom's because at least she had a pool to cool off in- Ava loved being at Grans house. Although when we came back home, she did run around hugging all her "babies" saying ahhhh! Home...

Very exciting our first homegrown tomatoes. Even though they are only the cherry variety, they were way better than the cherry variety at the grocery store. Black cherry was a really good bright flavor, ve... more »
I'm going Vegan...for good. Jun 29, 2012
Activity-icon-status

Meat lately has been making me feel strange, and the texture and smell has been bothering me. I am grossed out by it lately. I took out some vegan cookbooks from the library because I wanted meatless ideas for cooking and I read The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone. I recommend you read it. I am not eating meat anymore. We are...

It's interesting - Gram and I went to Stella's tarm to get their infamous white corn and to my surprize it was not that great.  It's scary what they are doing to our food supply - ps.. maybe you shouldn't read the wheat book.
Cyndi replied 11 months ago
You are better off eating more of vegetables than anything, but you have to get protein - I eventually want to go 100% vegan - it's really overall better for the family.  They think I am a kook since I finished the wheat book

I like the way you laid it out to get started. It was smart not to over do it until you get your feet wet. My daughter moved back here from Dallas a few years ago and rented a mobile home down the road fro... more »
A natural way for hair growth Jun 21, 2012

Some of you know I dabble in natural beauty tricks. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't. I've been trying to grow my eyelashes naturally without Latisse or anything dangerous like that. (Have you seen the warning lable on that stuff? Blindness! Eyes turning color from blue to brown!) I didn't think it was possible to grow...

How do I get the zucchini off the plant? DO I leave the blossom attached, because some of them have fallen off early. DOes that stop the growing? This may sound silly to not know this, but  usually ge... more »
RoriTx replied 11 months ago
The flower should drop off. If you leave them on they have a bad habit of growing jumbo sized overnight. I usually take a small paring knife and cut the stem instead of just snapping them off. If you snap ... more »
