Manley is talking about enlarging the garden.  He has some cedar that would make perfect posts and we have a tree that needs to come down if Mother Nature doesn't do that herself this winter.  He is thinking of making an area where we can add some more beds and a place for my Theresa Bugnet rose and my lilac that the moose... ...see more

I would trade the moose eating my lilacs for a pit greenhouse, throw in a flock of chickens  and I would be a happy camper.  So are we talking genetic engineering of plants?  Keep us informe... (more)

I need to look back and see what it has cost us to 'start' our own seeds.  I LOVE starting from seed, however, I used shop lights instead of grow lights (they were cheaper at the time) once the light bill came in different story. (I have a set up in the basement) I need to look at what it cost.  I hate the thought of buying... ...see more

Mice are coming into the Green House.  Manley stuffed insulation in some holes and they take it out .... battle is on.  Man against mouse....okay, mice...where is the ermine when you need him..

Thank you both....I was so happy.  Manley has put so much work into the garden for me, I'm so proud of him.... I love working in it...this has been so much fun and all of you gardeners are so enjoyable and very knowledgeable...

I got my first 2012 Garden Catalog....hmmm since it was the first, I need to order something from them ;o)   Pinetree Garden Seeds located here in Maine..the child in me wants to grow something crazy like horned melons or red meat radishes....throw back from childhood.  My grandparents bought their seeds at the farmer's union. ... ...see more
