I am a fairly new gardener (Started 2010) but have become a student of growing plants and veggies. I am also a Community Developer by trade and moved to an under-resourced community for the purpose of  community organizing. I have started the Brookdale Community Garden as well as the development of the Calvary Youth Development Garden. The CYD Garden gives at risk youth an opportunity to learn what it means to run an agricultural business by growing their own food and selling it at the local farmers market.

Veggie Newbie Newtown, PA

This is the first time I'll be growing vegetables.  Unfortunately we live in a townhome community with an HOA, so to keep on the down low (because vegetable gardens are no-no's), will be putting up a 3'x6' raised bed...

Damm Garden Muskegon, MI

My garden started out as a way to teach my toddlers where food comes from. They love picking the veggies off the plants and eating them as fast as the veggies grow! It's a great education tool, and healthy too!

Building my Dream Angels Camp, CA

I just moved to this house in November. The zone is 8b even though it says 7a. I can tell that the garden beds were not organic because of the undecomposed particles of blue here and there. I have been working on the...
