Two years ago my family moved to a under-resourced community to help with community organizing and community development. Getting the neighbors to trust us was our first big obstacle to overcome. Even though I had never gardened we decided to build a organic community garden in our backyard. This turned out to be a great way to meet the neighbors and give them empowerment over their finances and food.This year we got the township to re-zone our front yard to accommodate a community garden that is more accessible to the community. Now I have the backyard garden for my personal relaxation and for feeding my family...
