Looking for some advice. Can anyone tell me if strawberries can be grow by seed indoors and then transplanted? Or is buying plants a better idea?

They can be grown from seed indoors and then transplanted. I've done it. I tend to seed them about 10 weeks before the last frost and then plant them out after the frost. The catch with seeding them... more » |

| @Gene, Thank you for the advice. I don't know a whole lot about them. Someone gave us a few transplants last year and we loved them. I have no idea what kind they are. |

Strawberries are still something I'm struggling with. I've successfully grown them, and I've had some that tasted pretty good, but the whole operation still isn't something that I've got to where I want it... more » |

Two years ago my family moved to a under-resourced community to help with community organizing and community development. Getting the neighbors to trust us was our first big obstacle to overcome. Even though I had never gardened we decided to build a organic community garden in our backyard. This turned out to be a great way to meet the neighbors and give them empowerment over their finances and food.This year we got the township to re-zone our front yard to accommodate a community garden that is more accessible to the community. Now I have the backyard garden for my personal relaxation and for feeding my family...
