Well, I learned something today...didn't know sweet potatoes grew that far north!

:)  I'm in Kansas, are you sure you meant North :)  It's just I've never been called "in the North before"  haha.

: ) Remember, everything is North of Mississippi!

Last year I grew Georgia Jet, here in Ohio. I WISH I would have had the extra budget room to have tripled the slips I bought. Yours make me all sweet potato envy. : (  My source was NOT a very good one. I had maybe half the slips survive. Would you mind sharing the name of yours? I still have time... if I can talk my Captain into it again. ; )

I would if I knew.  My boyfriends parents gave us the slips.  I'll ask them but I have a feeling they just got them from store sweet potatoes (they always seem to have luck that way).

How many sweet potatoes do you get per plant?  They sure look good, I wonder if they grow well in Washington Stat....  I would really love to grow some, and will have to look for them.

We had 3 plants and the first picture is the big pile of the harvest.  We also had a smaller pile.  The vines took up a lot of space though, I wonder if you can trellis them?

I guess if it is a vine, a trellis could work.  They are like potatoes, alot of plants are needed to get a big crop.  But, sweet potatoes i'd take in any quantity!  Baker Creek has a squash called "Above ground sweet potato", it was sold out before I could get some.  I am hoping that it is as good as it sounds and it may be a better option.  Can't replace the real thing, but it could be fun.
