I have always enjoyed having a garden on the hobbyist level. I'm a teacher of high school students with physical and health impairments and our classroom garden is my living laboratory as I have no room to grow at my apartment. I'm itching to move so I'll have room to grow and more gardens to show!

Hi, thanks for visiting my garden :). The garden is sponsored by a local church that has a lot of empty property. There aren't many occupied lots yet because it's fairly new, but it's growing slowly but surely. I haven't heard of zucchini plants being male or female (this is our first vegetable garden so I'm learning as I go). How can you tell them apart?

Hello, I do use it as fertilizer to amend my beds. Keep in mind if you are going to be eating food that you used chicken compost on make sure your compost is at least 6 month old and has been broken down. You don't want "fresh" chicken compost on editable veggies:} Maybe a fish and a worm composter would go over better at school:} I have plenty of chick available:]
