Wow, this is a project I use to do with my kids a long time ago, I have long forgotten about it.... I need to do it again as we have lots of birds and I think they would love it. Thanks.

Thank you! It was a pretty good little fundraiser. We want to use the money to fix up our garden and turn it into a butterfly garden.

Our garden finally has a name - "The Wolfpatch" - in keeping with our school mascot, the wolf. | |
also, Molly, did you enter the contest? I don't see a place to vote on your page, but it deserves a million votes and I'd love to read an article about your class and the garden in MotherEarth news (or anywhere! ;-)

A great iniciative Molly and you can tell because everybody has a happy smile on their face. Horticultural therapy is very rewarding and even assembling the garden itself must have been great fun for everyone ;)

oops! I used too many letters on last post, so...choose people's choice from drop down menu, then find your garden show, vote and submit!

My classroom has a large patio behind it that just begged to be a garden. We built containers with donated lumber and got started. It's been a learning experience for all, with success and failure. This year we are starting with a clean slate and plan to attract butterflies and become a garden for all the senses. The students didn't get all that excited about growing veggies (we adults loved it - but we have to remember who the garden is for!)
