The spinach that we started last month has endured the very hot fall that we have had.  We didn't dare start the lettuce until a week and half ago because I thought it would shrivel the minute the leaves poked through the soil in our over 100 F heat.  We broadcast a mix of lettuce and salad greens for a cut-and-come-again type harvest.
