I live in a cold climate with clay soil, so last year my dh made me two raised beds to garden in. It was the first garden I have had in 25 years. The spring was cold and wet and my first potatoes rotted in the ground. Then in August, just when things were finally ripening, we were called away to a family emergency and were gone for 5 weeks. So I enjoyed the peas, and radishes, and when we got back a little corn and lots of carrots, and pumpkins.
