Why do you berm your beds?

lfin: these will be no-till swale like beds - am building it up year after year - this is just the first year and its hard for you to tell in this photo but there is a pretty good grade so this is all about catching falling water to minimize watering needs

Did you see the swirl beds done by the Adams Crest Farm permascape group?

Now that I notice, Nika, your swales really do help eliminate water runoff and top soil erosion on a steeper hill than Adams Crest - and in a wetter climate.  I referenced them both on this page in the Greenhouse.
