Nice looking garden. I was born in Oregon and lived near Rogue River when I was young. I remember that my grandmother had the worst time with gophers. I was wondering if you ever have a problem with them.

Lots of gophers. I have heard you can repel them with daffodils but I have never tried to get rid of them.

The only thing I have found that is effective is my cats. They are excellent gopher hunters. They patiently wait for hours by the hole and eventually get them.

I guess that's true. I try to keep my cats out of my garden to keep the birds and lizards and snakes safe. The one that does get in is pretty good at killing gophers and moles but the population of beneficials noticeably decreases.

I was going to mention that you should get a kitty just for your garden.

@CreativeGreenThu...:One of my cats does spend her time in the garden but likes to eat snakes and lizards and birds as well as rodents.

I had gophers that were eating my corn when we lived in Devine which is out in BFE.  Anyway, the only thing that would keep the gophers at bay was to leave a radio playing 24 hrs. a day.
