After much hoping, praying, planting the humorous but truthful seeds about how beneficial a garden would be, and a well-timed but poorly received Power Point on why I should dig up the backyard, this plot of plants is taking residence on the upper tier of the backyard, where mowing is undesirable anyway. On a lark, I planted tomatoes that a woman gave me last year, claiming that none of her heirlooms sprouted. My risk has paid off, because all of my tomato seeds are now baby plants! These unlikely varieties are Eva Purple Ball, Evergreen, and Black Prince
