| I've been filling it with the best I can find, but it's kinda creepy eating beet greens knowing they have probably been drenched in some sort of pesticide. |

Okay. This is so new to me. I see some cool little green life coming up out of the ground, but I'm thinking they might be weeds. I just found out a little trick for identifying the growth of your seedlings. Next time I plant my seeds, I'm going to put a red-top wooden match stick right next to the seed so when I do see... ...see more |

| I have nurtured many weeds, especially when seeding a new kind of flower, before deciding it was a weed rather than the flower I planted. |

Found this old pool filter and thought it might make a nice compost drum. The top half comes off, and maybe I can roll it around to keep it mixed. Worth a try, anyway. |

| It's supposed to work! My husband bought a weed dragon.....the only problem is he caught my clematis on fire and I think it's dead. So don't get too close to anything you don't want to lose. |

| I found some rotting corrugated roofing material laying around, so I poked holes all through it and laid that around the beds, too. Sorry about your clematis! |

Gardening is hard work, yet very relaxing. When I feel too relaxed, I down a beet, celery, apple, lemon and vinegar smoothie and then put on some tunes. The garden comes alive!

| Definitely! It really gives your brain a wash in clarity and gets the blood moving. Any combo is great. I always start with beets. Thanks for writing. George |

I live in Stone County -- Need I say more? I have opted for raised bed gardens with a special secret recipe to obtain a loam-type planting medium. This is a total first for me and my family, so wish me luck. I want to keep my big stainless steel bowl full of fresh, lively greens to enjoy daily. I have been trekking 45 miles to obtain "sort of fresh" veggies for my huge salad over the past couple of years, so I'm starting with mainly a salad mixture and lots of beets, I hope. I also found a treasure spot full of very composted horse manure for my 3 berry bushes. I am very excited to grow food for my...
