Holidays at last

I put the finishing touches on phase one of the greenhouse last weekend, and at this point the roof and prevailing wind side are covered with glass. I assembled the frame in a matter that would allow easy installation of glass should more come available. I'm not to concerned though, as a simple poly enclosure will be cheap and painless to install in the spring.
Viburnum x bodnantense is teetering on bursting, and my recent Heather plantings are flowering, though they'll have a few years before they are anywhere near significant in the newly formed winter garden. I've got a Hebe and hellebore assembly in a shady corner which will make for a future focal point, though the Hebe did not fair well in my hasty mid-summer's transplant. Hang in there buddy.
In the propagation room there are some recent additions, and early signs of an emerging root radical has appeared on my Butchart Garden's sourced Davidia involucrata seeds. My Cladrastis lutea seedlings are about to flush their first true leaves which is exciting. Approximately 12 of my seeds sprouted. I recently obtained Ginkgo biloba and Davidia involucrata seedlings from Finnerty Gardens, and am currently softening up their outer flesh. Always projects on the go!
