@Clenram: last year I planted mesclun along with a planting of lettuce instead of just lettuce and spinach. What fun and oh my gosh how tasty! I made a couple of plantings throughout the season and will do that again this year. Some things mature quickly with a mesculn mix and so in that respect it's tricky and some people are annoyed by that. Some year I might separate my plantings of greens but for now it's fun to experiment with all the textures and tastes!
