I feel like a slacker, not jumping out of bed to water. The rain the last couple days has made my life so much easier. For now!

For the first time in my life, I'm watching an old dog slowly drift away. My only other dog died suddenly...by a car... I don't know if she will make it thru the summer. Should I bury her in my garden that she loved so much?

I planted some last year and it seems like they could creep along but I think it takes a year for them to take each step. Easy enough to dig up or lay over where you would prefer them to grow.

Neat! Do you mean you grafted each individual branch then? That's pretty cool. The edging is really great too - I love the look of it. I kind of thought they might be slate shingles. Nice!

I'm loving this!!

About 6 years ago, we started on a journey to sustainability within the confines of our own urban 1/4 acre. Hence the dawning of The Yarden where we practice urban yardening. Each growing season we are adding, changing, modifying and enhancing. Last summer we took over the front lawn for FOOD! In the fall we harvested over 100lbs of sweet potatoes of which we gave away plenty and just ate up the last of our stash!
Our projects include; organic veggies and native fruits, aquaponics, mushshroomery, square foot gardening, straw bale gardens, native perennials and yes, I even have a solar oven made from...
