Thanks! We had a couple of these green boxes we found cheap and a whole bunch of gravel. My genius hubby worked out the whole syphoning process and wha la! The water comes up from the existing water feature (with giant gold fish that were originally feeders!) and filters thru the rock beds, feeding the romaine, mustard greens, and swiss chard. It takes about 10 days for the romaine to achieve the size you see in the picture. We had some amazing salads. And it looks gorgeous around the fish pond. People freak out when they see it!!
So... long story longer... we moved that whole set up into the basement where my husband has a myriad of fish tanks and lights. We have established quite the greenhouse in our basement this winter and are so excited to have a head start on seedlings for the Yarden. I'm hoping to NOT purchase any plants from the nursery this year!!
