Our garden is largely recycled containers, with plants that we start ourselves or "rescued" volunteers fr... other places. This is the fourth year of this growing project, it's all organic using composted manure for fertility from our VERY urban hens and rabbits. We have less than 500 square feet of growing space but manage to produce ALOT of stuff for our foodie-inspired kitchen. Oh, and we feed 8-10 people a day using fresh herbs and veggie ingredients grown right outside our apartment.
