Hi Tina, thank you for the comments on my Ivy Street garden.  My question was directed to Ifin, not you.  That is the distracting thing about this web site...seems as if all comments somehow show up on a number of different garden pages, and one never knows who exactly the person is addressing.  This is not the first time this has happened.  The comment that I sent to Ifin was never answered, which is an answer in itself I suppose. @irxprt:I know what you are saying irxprt!  I seem to be chasing things all over the website.  Good news!  We are revamping this EXACT problem -- an improvement which will come out in about 2 weeks. Whew!  the Feedback button has been a lifeline and people have used it to get the powers-that-be attention! Thanks for writing (and I hope you get this!!!)  (TinaM, did you get this too?  Please let me know.)

@lfin:Yes, I did. Hopefully the fix will fix things!

Tina, your garden is lovely.  I received a note that you had commented on my garden, but I am wondering if you meant mine which is Ivy Street Garden or Ifin's garden.  I keep receiving comments that I think are not mine, but Ifin's. Thank you and happy gardening!

Hi Tinam,  you are the talk of the town on Facebook tonight since I put up one of your garden pictures.  They love what you have done == it must be fun to be you! (And live where you do!)

@lfin:Wow, thanks.  I would love to read the comments.  How can I find you on facebook?

@tinam:Hi Tinam,  Go to Your Garden Show on Facebook.  It is not quite as easy to find a note in the thread, though, even after a few days.  I'll bring it forward somehow and let you know.

Love the colors of your garden.  Do you have a deer problem in Randolph?  If so, how do you cope with the problem?
tinam replied over 2 years ago
@Casalbordino:  Hi!  Where is it that you live?  I am guessing by your question that you have deer issues as well.  The pictures of this area of my garden is behind a fence, but i do experiment with other species in other areas of my property. I use recommended "deer resistant" plant material and sometimes it gets nibbled, heavily browsed upon or left alone. With species that I absolutely must have and are not "deer resistant"  I spray.

@tinam: Actually, I was asking for my daughter.  She lives in Montville, NJ and I do most of her gardening.  I personally love perennials and I try to incorporate them in her landscaping.  The deer eat the roses, black-eye susans, lillies.  They definetely do not like lamb's ears. Along the driveway, I planted 30 burning bushes.  They nibble on those also.  Any perennial suggestions?

@Casalbordino:Well, I live close to your daughter and would be happy to come by. I can give you a general idea of things to plant, but it is always best to visit the sight to see and observe the landscape.  Many conditions will dictate what type of plant material is used.  For a reference of "deer resistant" plants, visit the Rutgers Cooperative Extension's website, www.rce.rutgers.edu.That should give you a good start.
