Sweet post - interesting idea with the syrup!  We have pokeberry in what seems like the thousands here.. the dogs come in with purple stains on their coats from rolling in it (and my aren't they proud of it, too).  Roasted beets and rain and sweet peas, that is almost enough to have me go to MY kitchen :)  No rain here, though.  Happy Saturday to you, too!

Roasted beets....my fav way to prepare them.  That simple syrup sounds yummy. I will watch for your concoction! We make a lot of simple syrup around here. My dad was a pharmacist and used to make us yummy lime rickies at the fountain of the neighborhood drugstore where he worked. My kids can't believe a pharmacist would make drinks! (and wrap gifts, and sell candy....lots of fun memories) (less)
